JOB RESPONSIBILITIES All the following functions, qualifications, knowledge, skills abilities (KSAS) and duties are essential. An employee in this class, upon appointment, should have the equivalent of the following:

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within IT systems
  • Set up new user accounts, email configurations, and devices for team members
  • Install and update software applications, ensuring compatibility and data security
  • Monitor network traffic to identify and resolve connectivity issues
  • Configure servers, printers, and peripheral devices for company use
  • Perform routine maintenance and manage resources to optimize speed and reduce costs while maintaining efficiency
  • Respond to technical support tickets from employees or departments facing technical difficulties
  • Conduct training and guidance sessions on tools, IT security practices, and system usage
  • Analyze data from system logs to improve performance and identify risks
  • Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides for reference
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements

PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VoIP, routing/switching (Cisco), network security (firewalls, VPNs), LAN/WAN, and troubleshooting
  • Entry-Level with cloud networking (AWS, Azure), network monitoring tools (Wireshark, SNMP)

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Actively participate in a variety of committees as assigned
  • Support a variety of projects including but not limited to ticketing system, Remote Help Desk Support, instant messenger for all users, badge system, inventory system and equipment rental
  • Provides focus and direction to process improvements in supporting clinical users of the EMR system by identifying workflow or software improvements, while working closely with user champions and clinical and business leadership
  • Provide and follow best practices and processes (e.g., testing, change control, and implementation planning)
  • Collaboration with departments, practices and IT partners - Works with clinical departments, practices, patient services, education, ancillary, and technology teams to coordinate IT responses to user requests, problem solving, and collaborating solutions

  • Variable according to the needs of the organization, 40 hours per week with after hours as needed

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of an Associates degree with IT or related experience
  • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience as an IT specialist or in technical support, system analysis, network administration, or a related role. (preferred)
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and network technologies
  • Relevant professional certifications, like CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) - (Preferred)

As an integral part of our team, you will drive efficiency and innovation while safeguarding our digital assets. Leveraging best practices in IT application planning, development, implementation and maintenance services of all MidMichigan Community Health Services customers.
