The Fresno County Information Technology Services Department invites applications for the position of Information Technology Specialist I. Incumbents provide technical support of computer and enterprise applications and systems including, but not limited to, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment; and perform related work as required. Responsibilities include providing end-user support; installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and related peripheral equipment; and troubleshooting endpoint devices and network connectivity issues.
Please note: The current vacancies exist within the Information Technology Services Department. However, the eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in other County departments as they occur.

Minimum Qualifications
OPTION 1:
Education: Completion of sixty (60) semester units of coursework that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system with at least fifteen (15) units of course work in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field. A copy of your transcripts verifying completion of coursework is required and must be attached to your application.
OPTION 2:
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, paid work experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems and related peripheral equipment or designing, developing, and modifying computer applications.
In addition to the options listed above, the following is also required:
License: Possession of a valid Class "C" drivers license, or equivalent.

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.

Tentative Interview Dates: August 4, 2026
Additional interviews, including those with other departments, will be scheduled as needed.
