Title: Ignition SCADA Architect/Specialist
Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $40 - $46 an hour on W2 or C2CRole and Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and architecture of Ignition SCADA solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise and OT standards
• Understanding of Development and configuration of SCADA applications (mainly Ignition), including HMI/visualizations, scripting, and data flows
• Drive integration of Ignition SCADA with enterprise systems (e.g., historians, MES, GIS, asset management, cloud platforms)
• Support and oversee system commissioning, testing, and deployment in production environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA performance, communication, and data issues
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, OT network segmentation (e.g., Purdue Model, IEC62443/NIS), and governance policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, IT, and vendors
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and best practices for SCADA implementations
• Facilitate discussions with both technical and business stakeholders to understand business objectives and technical goals.
• Document current state and future state solutions using a combination of visual and written deliverables.
• Design solutions to business problems with a focus on solutions which deliver the highest value to the organization. These may include technology, business process, or communication solutions.
• Gain alignment on go-forward solutions with both technical and business stakeholders. • Present solution proposals to leadership including pros/cons, resource estimates, proposed timeline, alternatives, and recommendation.
• Participate in requirements and design sessions for functional configuration and integration design to identify gaps, ensure alignment with standards, and identify conflicts between components of the overall solution.
• Host technical status update meetings with technical team members and aid in allocation of tasks to technical team members.
• Share knowledge and educate new and existing team members on solution design.
• Identify project risks and possible mitigations and work with project managers to ensure mitigation plans are executed.
• Monitor execution of solution build to ensure alignment to the design and the ability to meet business requirements.
• Ensure alignment of solutions with corporate policies, standards, and industry best practices. Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Lead, or Technical Business Analyst role.
• University degree, certification, or equivalent experience
• Strong experience in Ignition SCADA architecture design (mandatory)
• Solid knowledge in renewable energy domain (preferred)• Solid understanding of industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and OT environments• Experience with SCADA system design patterns, deployment models, and high availability architectures
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, DNP3)
