    Position Purpose

    Under the direction of the Director of Information and Technology, performs a variety of duties related to district-wide operation and maintenance of district information systems, end-user hardware, and related technology infrastructure. Creates and maintains student and staff records, assists in the validation and accurate reporting of data, assists in software configuration and documentation, and provides direct technical support to schools and central office locations across the district. This position requires a high level of independence, flexibility, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Create and maintain student and staff records as directed.
    • Validate data as well as troubleshoot errors in reporting.
    • Assist in developing user documentation and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of application systems.
    • Assist in providing end-user training and support.
    • Assist in the configuration and integration of student information systems and related software.
    • Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, virtual conference, and in-person support.
    • Diagnose and resolve technical problems with District-adopted technologies, including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, projectors, and classroom AV equipment.
    • Image, deploy, configure, and maintain student and staff devices across school sites.
    • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting on hardware and peripherals.
    • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely, accurate manner across multiple school locations.
    • Prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes.
    • Assist with basic network connectivity troubleshooting (wired and wireless) at the building level.
    • Support classroom and event technology setup, including for testing windows and district events.
    • Travel between schools and central office as required to provide on-site technical support.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records of district technology assets.
    • Proactively secure and protect Windsor Public School Districts digital assets and information systems.
    • Support the work of the Systems Analyst and the broader Technology team.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of operating systems: Windows & Chrome OS.
    • Working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education: Sheets, Slides, Forms, Docs, Gmail, and Drive.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL.
    • Working knowledge of common end-user hardware, including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, projectors, and interactive displays.
    • Familiarity with device imaging/deployment tools and mobile device management (MDM) systems.
    • Basic understanding of network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi and wired connections).
    • Experience with IT ticketing/help desk systems.
    • Must be organized and self-directed.
    • Ability to work independently under own initiative in a collaborative environment to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to explain technical procedures in writing, in person, or virtually.
    • Ability to quickly learn the basics of unfamiliar specialized systems and software platforms, as well as understand their significance in a public education environment.
    • Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and manages time effectively.
    • Willingness and/or aptitude to teach people how to use technologies.
    • Proven record of honesty, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Travel Requirements

    Regular travel between schools and central offices will be required to provide on-site technical support district-wide.

    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

    • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
    • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
    • Ability to move between classrooms, offices, and buildings, including occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching to install or service equipment.

    Qualifications Profile

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

    • Associates degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or certifications.
    • One or more years of experience in customer service, computer technical support, or computer operations.
    • One or more years of experience working with data systems.
    • Valid Motor Vehicle Operators license and own transportation (required).
