Overview:

StaffBuffalo is working with a well-established and growing organization to hire an Infrastructure Administrator in the Buffalo area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys owning infrastructure performance across on-premise and cloud environments. This full-time, on-site role offers a salary range of $90,000-$110,000, based on experience.

In this position, you will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, Microsoft Azure IaaS, hybrid identity, backup and disaster recovery, and core networking services. You will work closely with IT, cybersecurity, compliance, service desk, vendors, and business teams to ensure systems remain reliable, scalable, and aligned with organizational needs.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a strong security mindset and hands-on experience supporting hybrid cloud environments. If you enjoy troubleshooting complex systems, strengthening infrastructure, supporting modernization projects, and serving as a trusted escalation point for technical teams, this could be an excellent next step.

Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and optimize on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers
• Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V and support Microsoft Azure IaaS environments
• Support hybrid identity and access solutions including Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy
• Perform system provisioning, patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and infrastructure documentation
• Maintain and test backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions for servers and critical systems
• Monitor system health, capacity, uptime, and performance while troubleshooting infrastructure issues
• Partner with cybersecurity, compliance, service desk, vendors, and managed service providers on infrastructure needs

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years supporting hybrid cloud environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, virtualization, Microsoft Azure IaaS, and infrastructure administration
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including firewalls, routing, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools, Microsoft 365 infrastructure components, and PowerShell scripting
• Exposure to compliance-driven environments and infrastructure security practices such as hardening, patching, access controls, and vulnerability remediation
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, confidentiality, and customer service skills
• Relevant education in Information Technology or a related field preferred; Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, Windows Server, or security certifications are a plus
