Infrastructure Design TechnicianProtingent Staffing has an exciting contract Infrastructure Design Technician with our client located in Charlotte, NC.Job DescriptionResponsible for internal network order fulfillment and designing circuit paths and equipment loads within the network.Within the design responsibilities, accountable for producing an accurate design layout record that demonstrates an understanding of the network, and documentation to support network failures and maintenance activity.Job ResponsibilitiesDesigns/Redesigns Layer 1 circuit layout records in TIRKS database to accurately reflect the network build including DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet and IP across the Network.Resolve any inventory discrepancies in accordance with the EIRG/FIRG database and job aides.Collaborate with Planning and Engineering to build and provision equipment and infrastructure circuits that support our customer need.Understand the fiber cable configurations in relations to above solutions.Maintain and Support Network Infrastructure records in all applicable applications.Demonstrate ability to efficiently and accurately design and process internal network orders.Process orders according to SLAs. On time performance and quality standards.Manage the assigned queue demonstrating strong time management skills and commitment to customer excellence.Knowledgeable and proficient in complex provisioning requirements, technologies, and delivery.Working knowledge of equipment elements and solutions across switched and special access, Optical Ethernet solutions, local loop and long-haul transport in the telephony network, Access and provision DACS cross connects.Provide technical support to internal and external customers for engineering, installation and testing as required for the successful completion of all network orders.Perform project based duties based on organizational grown demands.Job QualificationsKnowledge of optical networking equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, Alcatel/Lucent.Knowledge of telecommunications inventory systems such as TIRKS, OMNIvue, WMS, WFMT, BOSSKnowledge of inside plant fiber optic structured wiring design, construction, and operations.Excellent Written and verbal communications skills.Able to demonstrate teamwork, and strong problem-solving and analytical skillsSelf-Motivated and works independently to achieve KPI expectations.Able to follow established procedures to fulfill order requirements accurately and efficiently.Exhibit continual learning and development by improving job skills through on the job training and all available learning pathwaysRobust technical understanding of voice, data, ethernet products and related equipment, as well as keeping up with new products or product changes and procedures/design consumption rulesExpert understanding of design, including both on net and offnet routing requirementsAbility to work in multiple design systems both legacy and next generationAbility to quickly evaluate challenges and make recommendation for remediationAttention to detail to ensure entrance and exit criteria met in accordance with the Customer expectation.Nice to havePrevious experience designing infrastructure circuits in a telecommunications networkLanguage Skills: EnglishThis role is a remote role and requires candidate to work from a computer, join conference calls, provide status on individual circuit status.Job DetailsJob Type: ContractPay Range: $35 - $38 an hour.Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite).Benefits PackageProtingent offers competitive salaries, insurance plan options (HDHP plan or POS plan), education/certification reimbursement, pre-tax commuter benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO), and an administered 401k plan.About ProtingentProtingent is an Award-Winning provider of top-tier Engineering and IT talent, trusted by companies at the forefront of innovation — from Software and Aerospace to AI, Clean Tech, Medical Devices, and Connected Technologies .
