Infrastructure Engineer

Job Descriptions:

• 2-3 years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Middleware - Messaging platforms - IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ), IBM Message Broker / ACE / IIB, Kafka

Position Summary:

• We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Operations team. This role focuses on managing and improving Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms, ensuring reliable and scalable containerized infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support production environments, contribute to automation initiatives, and help drive platform stability and performance.

Platform Support & Operations

• Manage day-to-day operations of Kubernetes and OpenShift environments
• Help monitor cluster health, performance, and availability
• Support routine maintenance activities such as patches and upgrades.

Incident Support & Troubleshooting

• Assist in identifying and troubleshooting platform-related issues
• Support incident resolution under guidance from senior team members
• Document issues and contribute to basic root cause analysis.

Automation & Scripting

• Support automation efforts using Python or Bash scripts
• Assist in maintaining scripts and tools used for operational tasks
• Learn and contribute to Git-based workflows and automation practices.

OpenShift Cluster Support

• Assist with cluster provisioning, configuration, and upgrades
• Help maintain consistency across environments using standard procedures.

Collaboration & Learning

• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and support teams
• Participate in team discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Continuously build technical skills in cloud and container technologies.

Security & Compliance

• Follow established security policies and operational procedures
• Assist in implementing basic security and monitoring controls.

Continuous Improvement

" Identify simple improvement opportunities in daily operations

" Support initiatives to improve system reliability and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 3 years of experience in Infrastructure, Systems, or Cloud Support roles
• Basic hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift
• 1 2 years of Linux system administration experience
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Git and version control systems
• Basic knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in cloud-native technologies
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Job Expectations:

• Participate in on-call rotation for production support
• Hybrid or onsite presence as required.
