Infrastructure Engineer (Systems & Networks)

Location: Costa Mesa, California (Onsite)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Systems and Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT team. This role is responsible for high-level, end-to-end IT support across the organization, from desktop support to enterprise VoIP, LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi networking, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and security operations. This is an in-office position that requires on-call availability to support global offices and continuous business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive technical support for live and internet-based events, both onsite and remotely.
• Support and maintain Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure for production servers, including cluster health and capacity planning.
• Design, deploy, and manage complex Azure environments, including networking, identity, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Manage AWS storage (S3 buckets) for backups and data archival.
• Use Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity federation (Azure AD/Entra ID, SAML, OAuth).
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VPN, Veeam Backup, and VoIP systems.
• Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks, deployments, and monitoring.
• Monitor, respond to, and help remediate findings across the organizations security toolset, including MDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, and EDR solutions.
• Manage building access control systems and other physical security hardware.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• A minimum of 7 years in Active Directory, server administration, and general systems administration.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with cloud and virtualization infrastructure, including complex Azure architecture, Nutanix AHV/Acropolis, AWS (S3/storage), Terraform, and GitHub.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and supporting SSO/identity federation.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience with LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python) for automation.
• Familiarity with security tools for managed detection and response (MDR), log management (SIEM), vulnerability management, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
• Working experience with Linux systems administration and containerization technologies such as Docker and Portainer.
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to support scripting, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

• This role requires 24x7 on-call availability to support global offices and critical operations.
• Participation in monthly scheduled after-hours maintenance windows is required.
• Domestic and international travel is a component of this position.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks, think critically, and maintain professionalism under pressure is essential.

Compensation:

• This role is a Contract-To-Hire opportunity, offering a negotiable hourly W2 pay rate, and a target salary conversion of $97,500 - $124,750/year.
