Infrastructure Engineer (Data Center)
POSITION LOCATION: Itasca, IL, 60143

Pay Rate: $60 to 75/hr. on W2 ONLY

WORK ARRANGEMENT: 4 days onsite
DAYS OF THE WEEK: Wednesday-Saturday
WORKING HOURS: 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM EST

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: 12 Months Contract to Hire role

FUNCTION OF THE GROUP: The Client Data Center team is responsible for the design, build, operation and continuity of Client s physical data center environments, ensuring that critical banking applications and infrastructure remains secure, highly available and resilient across regions.

INITIATIVES/PROJECTS: As part of the Data Center Strategy, this person will allow us to develop a 24x7 remote hands staff at DCE data center. This is integral to the deployment and support of our three production data center rooms. The team supports Client s data center strategy, a core component of the Orange Rocket Initiative.
INDUSTRY BACKGROUND: enterprise data center experience.

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
This person will have the skills necessary to deploy server and network technology within the data centers. They must understand data center power and equipment connectivity. Physical data center operations such as rack and stack, structured copper and fiber cabling installation, hardware break fix, and asset management. Successful Client Data Center team members typically have hands-on enterprise data center experience, strong physical infrastructure skills, comfort with regulated environments, and the discipline to operate within strict change and security controls. This includes direct experience with physical data center operations such as rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management, along with a solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls. Team members are expected to operate within formal change, incident, and access management processes, collaborate closely with engineering teams, vendors, and remote hands, and use standard tooling such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems.

MUST HAVE SKILLS REQUIRED (6 - 8 years of experience required):
1. Direct experience with physical data center operations (rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management),
2. Solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls.

FLEX SKILLS:
1. Standard tooling such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems.
2. Administrative experience a plus.

Pre-SCREENING QUESTIONS:
1. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, vendors, and remote hands. Can you provide an example of how you worked as part of a team to safely and accurately complete physical data center work?
2. How do you make sure your work is documented, communicated, and aligned with team standards, especially when multiple teams are involved?
