A key expectation is effective use of AI to speed up troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and repeatable packaging work-while validating outputs and adhering to security, compliance, and change-control practices.
Key Responsibilities
Package, test, and deliver Windows and macOS applications for enterprise deployment, including upgrades, remediations, and dependency management.
Own packaging from intake to production: requirements gathering, installation analysis, repackaging, testing, UAT support, and deployment readiness.
Serve as a technical lead/escalation point; mentor junior packagers and improve team playbooks, templates, and quality controls.
Diagnose complex install/runtime issues using advanced monitoring and logging techniques; drive root-cause fixes with vendors and engineering partners.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and business application stakeholders to ensure smooth releases and minimal user disruption.
Improve automation/orchestration for packaging pipelines (build, validation, detection rules, versioning, deployment notes, rollback plans).
Use AI to accelerate day-to-day packaging work, including:
generating/refining PowerShell and packaging scripts,
summarizing logs and install traces into actionable findings,
drafting runbooks, change tickets, release communications, and troubleshooting guides,
producing standardized package documentation (install steps, detection logic, dependencies, rollback),
while independently validating results before implementation.
Required Qualifications
5+ years in software packaging/application deployment roles, including experience as an escalation point/lead.
Strong expertise packaging for Windows (Windows 11 primary) and working knowledge packaging for macOS.
Advanced packaging/scripting skills:
Windows Installer technologies (MSI/MSIX preferred; strong MSI required)
PowerShell (advanced) and packaging automation patterns
Packaging toolsets (e.g., AdminStudio and/or equivalent)
Advanced troubleshooting skills (e.g., Procmon-style analysis, install logs, services, drivers, registry/file system, permissions).
Experience coordinating across app owners and infrastructure teams to execute upgrades, integrations, and enterprise rollouts.
Ability to perform and support client testing, deployment assistance, and release validation.
