Infrastructure Solutions Architect Azure/AWS/GCP

Position Overview

The client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect with strong expertise across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design and guide the implementation of secure, scalable, resilient, and supportable technology solutions.

The architect will partner closely with the Office of Information Management (OIM) and cross-functional technology teams to translate business and technical requirements into practical architecture and infrastructure designs across cloud and on-premises environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of hands-on engineering experience, cloud infrastructure expertise, security knowledge, and architectural thinking, with the ability to work effectively across infrastructure, application, security, data, and enterprise architecture teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, and guide the implementation of secure, scalable, interoperable, and supportable technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Work closely with OIM, infrastructure teams, cloud engineers, application developers, security teams, data teams, and enterprise architects to translate business requirements into actionable technical designs.
• Develop and document solution architectures for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Design and support cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Provide architectural guidance for Azure services including App Service, AKS, Azure Functions, Storage, and Databases.
• Evaluate infrastructure, application, networking, security, data, and integration requirements to ensure solutions are resilient and scalable.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout solution implementation, deployment, and operational support.
• Apply cloud security, IAM, data protection, and enterprise security best practices to architecture and implementation decisions.
• Collaborate with development teams using technologies such as C#, Java, Python, Go, and Node.js.
• Support containerized and cloud-native solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with Azure DevOps and GitLab to support CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Ensure solutions integrate effectively with SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
• Participate in Agile delivery processes and promote DevOps and automation best practices.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement and provide appropriate architectural recommendations.
• Create and maintain technical architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, and implementation guidelines.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• 4+ years of experience with Azure services including:
  • Azure App Service
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure Storage
  • Azure Databases
• 3+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of experience with one or more programming languages, including C#, Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitLab.
• 3+ years of experience with IAM, data protection, cloud security, and security best practices.
• 3+ years of experience with databases including SQL Server, Oracle, and/or NoSQL databases.
• 3+ years of experience working with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• 4+ years of experience demonstrating strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Strong experience designing and implementing solutions across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with enterprise architects, infrastructure engineers, developers, security teams, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architecture.
• Experience developing enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure resiliency, scalability, availability, disaster recovery, and operational support.
• Relevant cloud or architecture certifications are a plus.
