Job Summary:

When a patient receives an infusion, the Infusion Technician will help with basic needs during the treatment. This includes taking vitals, stocking supplies, answering phones and taking patients to treatment areas. 

You will help patients get into wheelchairs and transport them after discharge. 

If a patient’s condition changes, you will report those changes to the nursing staff.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Adherence to Standards and Policies: Maintains nursing care standards and follows the policies and procedures of Monroe Regional Hospital and the nursing department. 
  • Basic Patient Care Support: Assists with patient basic needs during treatments, including taking vitals, stocking supplies, answering phones, and escorting patients to treatment areas. 
  • Vital Signs and Documentation: May obtain and document patients' vital signs in medical records as part of patient care. 
  • Patient Mobility Assistance: Helps with ambulating patients, placing them in wheelchairs, and transporting them after discharge. 
  • Patient Monitoring and Training: Reports any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff and assists in the orientation of new personnel in the department. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Skills:Must be able to follow routine written and/or verbal instructions. Can perform functions in the infusion center, such as vitals, toileting bladder and bowel, transporting patients and assisting nurses when needed. 
  • Certification: Current CPR certification.

  • Certification: BLS
