Description

Job Summary A Global Packaging Innovator is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join their team in the Charlotte Metro area! Serve as the plant expert on mold design, part design, and injection molding tooling systems, managing the maintenance, performance, and implementation of both new and existing molds. 401k & Retirement Savings, Medical/Dental/Vision, Vacation, and Paid Parental Leave!All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.Location: Charlotte, North Carolina; Job type: Permanent; Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 per year; Work hours: 8am to 5pm; Education: Bachelors.Responsibilities Lead diagnostic, retooling, and refurbishing efforts for complex, high‑cavity plastic injection molds to extend tool life and optimize performance.Blend engineering design with traditional mold‑maker bench elements; actively support toolroom activities and the physical implementation of tooling modifications, repairs, and upgrades.Utilize SolidWorks exclusively to design, modify, and develop tooling solutions, engineering changes, and specialized components.Evaluate production floor issues and collaborate with process, maintenance, and automation teams to troubleshoot process‑related tooling issues, validate mold functionality, and establish optimal processing parameters.Conduct root cause analysis on tooling failures and implement robust corrective/preventive actions to reduce cycle times and scrap.Requirements BS in Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience.3+ years of experience in plastic injection mold design, manufacturing, and refurbishment.Understanding of process engineering as it relates to plastic injection molding and high‑cavity tooling systems (up to 128 cavities).Proficiency in SolidWorks (all design work is performed exclusively in SolidWorks).Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and documentation.Skills ToolingInjection MoldingSolidWorksEqual Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.This posting is open for thirty (30) days.#J-18808-Ljbffr
