Injection Mold Tooling Technician (Hot Runner & Maintenance)

At START, you’ll be the craftsperson behind reliable, production-ready injection molds. Your day might begin by guiding a mold into place with an overhead crane, continue with a precise teardown for preventive maintenance, and wrap with a smooth reassembly after you’ve traced and fixed an electrical or hot runner fault. You’ll keep water and hydraulic circuits flowing, surface finishes true, and timelines on track—largely on your own, because that’s how you work best.

What you’ll do

• Disassemble and reassemble production injection molds for repair and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and correct electrical issues and hot runner system problems.
• Fabricate and install new hydraulic and water lines to specification.
• Run toolroom equipment: surface grinder, drill press, and engine lathe.
• Safely move and stage tooling using an overhead crane and drive a forklift.

What you bring

• 2–3+ years of Mold Maker experience focused on production injection molds.
• Hands-on skill with mold tear-down, refurbishment, and PM.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and hot runner systems.
• Ability to build and route new hydraulic and water circuits.
• Proficiency with a surface grinder, drill press, and engine lathe.
• Comfort operating an overhead crane and driving a forklift.
• Self-starter mindset; you work effectively with minimal supervision.
