Injection Molding Engineer (Elgin, Illinois)Seeking an experienced Injection Molding Engineer to support operations in the injection molding area, purchase equipment, drive new technologies, and develop new products.ResponsibilitiesServe as project manager for launch of new tooling, communicating with tool shop, ensuring new tool builds are designed and built.Provide input for new project quotes to ensure planned equipment is suitable.Ensure on‑time completion, quality, and cost targets for new injection molds, machines, and projects entering production.Participate in problem‑solving efforts for root cause determination of part defects.Review mold vendor design proposals and assure functional mold performance.Interface with customers and suppliers on project matters, mold and fixture design, validation, and product quality issues.Ensure design for manufacturability, advising customers on required mold/part design changes.Develop and optimize injection molding processes for tight‑tolerance, short‑run production.Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non‑conformances.Qualifications+5 years of injection molding experience.Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience.Working knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, and validation protocols.Strong customer, supplier, and vendor communication and follow‑up skills.Experience with new product launch concepts and continuous improvement.Supports global team interactions and projects (travel and phone).Familiarity with problem‑solving techniques and flexibility.Exceptional attention to detail in a collaborative and team‑driven environment.Previous manufacturing experience.Ability to identify and define problems and employ a logical, methodical approach to solving them.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive base salary: $80,000–$100,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to location).Eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus.21 days paid time off (PTO) to start, up to 36 days max.Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.Company‑sponsored life, AD&D, and short‑ and long‑term disability at no cost to employee.Paid parental leave, tuition and fitness reimbursement.401(k) with 4% dollar‑for‑dollar match, fully vested upon eligibility.Apply through our application form.
