JOB TITLE: Innovation Instructor DEPARTMENT: Learning Programs REPORTS TO: Success & Career Coaching Manager STATUS: Part-time, Hybrid JOB PURPOSE: Ed Farm envisions an inventive world where all people have access to everything they need to fill or create the jobs of the future. Ed Farm seeks Innovation Instructors in Alabama and Georgia who are capable of being the “on the ground” lead for Code Clubs and/or iCan summer camps offered to K-12 students in Alabama. Instructors are responsible for supporting and facilitating learning experiences, and will work closely with Ed Farm, school districts and community organization's staff to create an engaging and exciting learning experience for all participating students. Instructors should be highly motivated, passionate about education and committed to high-quality learning experiences for all students. EXPECTATIONS: Innovation Instructors will be responsible for the following tasks:
Innovation Instructors will be assigned to 3 or more sites and generate 10-15 hours per week. This time includes training, session prep and management, and most importantly, session facilitation. The program term will run on a seasonal basis (Fall, Spring, and Summer). At the conclusion of this program term, Innovation Instructors may have the option to extend to the next program cycle at the discretion of Ed Farm staff. GOALS/OUTCOMES: *The goals outlined measure success on responsibilities and will only be applicable once the Innovation Instructor has assumed responsibility for the items detailed below. Measurable Goals/Outcomes: On a scale of 1-10, receive ratings above 6 from code club sponsors. Tasks or Duties to Accomplish Outcomes: Lead and facilitate Code Club sessions Frequency: Weekly Measurable Goals/Outcomes: Have less than 3 tardy arrivals to session with a semester Tasks or Duties to Accomplish Outcomes: Arrive on-time consistently to Code Club sessions Frequency: Daily Measurable Goals/Outcomes: Attend all orientations and trainings throughout the year Tasks or Duties to Accomplish Outcomes: Seek understanding and clarity on responsibilities in group training sessions and as needed Frequency: Weekly Measurable Goals/Outcomes: Coordinate 1 celebratory event for club students at the end of semester Tasks or Duties to Accomplish Outcomes: Retrieve all material, snacks and swag needed to conduct Celebration of Learning events Frequency: Once per semester Evaluations will occur twice yearly or at least once per semester. Informal evaluations will also be conducted as deemed necessary by the Learning Innovation Specialist and Senior Program Manager. REQUIRED SKILLS, BEHAVIOR, OR KNOWLEDGE 1. Confident in the use of technology on a continual basis to manage and facilitate learning. 2. Passionate about supporting K-12 students through summer code and create camps. 3. Basic knowledge about computer science, code, creativity and using technology to support learning. 4. Problem-solver willing to find and implement solutions. 5. Competence using iPad, MacBook, projector and speakers to successfully facilitate teaching and learning. 6. Excellent communicator, both internally and externally, virtually and face to face. |
