Inpatient Pharmacist – Contract

Location: Hood River, OR

Duration: 8 Weeks

Shift: Rotating Day & Night Shift

Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Responsibilities:

  • Verify and process inpatient medication orders using EPIC.

  • Provide clinical evaluation of medication therapies for hospitalized patients.

  • Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications.

  • Monitor medication therapy effectiveness and maintain safe medication practices.

  • Support inpatient care and medication management activities.

  • Provide overnight on-call pharmacy support as required.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams.

  • Conduct medication reconciliation and support discharge planning.

  • Respond to clinical questions and provide drug information.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and safety standards.

  • Participate in weekend coverage as scheduled.

  • Document clinical interventions and pharmacy activities in EPIC.

  • Contribute to medication safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Preferred:

  • Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.

  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.

  • Active Oregon Pharmacist License required.

  • Strong clinical knowledge of acute care pharmacotherapy.

  • Experience working in fast-paced hospital environments.

  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts.

  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
