Our client is a large, integrated health system with a strong presence across the Pacific Northwest. They are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Manager to lead acute care pharmacy operations at their Seattle medical center. This is a permanent, onsite role offering a competitive compensation package and a meaningful opportunity to shape pharmacy practice at a high-volume hospital.

    The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role built for a pharmacy professional who has earned their stripes on the floor and is ready to own an operation. You will manage a multi-level team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Interns, and Pharmacy Technicians across a 24/7/365 acute care environment that includes ICU/Critical Care, Med-Surg, Infusion, and Emergency/Urgent Care. You will partner closely with nursing, physician, and hospital leadership to drive clinical quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across your service areas.

The ideal candidate is a supervisor or manager-level pharmacist ready to step into greater scope. You bring deep inpatient experience, strong instincts for building and maintaining clinical workflows, and a leadership style that develops people while holding the operation to a high standard.

    What You Will Do

    • Oversee day-to-day inpatient pharmacy operations across acute care settings, ensuring consistent quality of pharmaceutical care and service delivery
    • Lead, develop, and manage a multi-level team including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Interns, and Pharmacy Technicians; responsible for hiring, performance management, coaching, and succession planning
    • Design, implement, and continuously improve clinical pharmacy workflows in collaboration with hospital leadership, nursing, and physician partners
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, and relevant accreditation standards
    • Oversee formulary management, drug use initiatives, and pharmaceutical care quality across inpatient practice settings
    • Manage operational and project budgets; report on performance metrics and develop action plans to address gaps
    • Approve updates to compounding master formulas, formulary dispensing records, and pharmacy dispensing program templates
    • Monitor drug availability and supply chain conditions; escalate issues and influence inventory strategy at an enterprise level
    • Provide consultative oversight during clinical practice meetings, staff huddles, and interdepartmental forums to ensure cross-team alignment

    What You Bring

    • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree
    • Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist, with significant time in inpatient pharmacy at an acute hospital
    • Minimum 3 years in a formal leadership role with direct reports, including solid-line responsibility and hire/fire authority
    • Minimum 2 years managing operational or project budgets
    • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining clinical workflows in a multidisciplinary hospital environment
    • Active Washington State Pharmacist License required at hire; candidates not yet licensed in WA must be willing and eligible to obtain licensure
    • National Provider Identifier (NPI) required within 6 months of hire

    Preferred

    • PGY1 or PGY2 pharmacy residency completion
    • Experience in a union environment
    • Exposure to hospital expansion or system integration efforts
    • Hands-on experience in ICU/Critical Care, Med-Surg, Infusion, and Emergency/Urgent Care settings

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary: $231,000 to $268,000 per year
    • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits for employee and family
