About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Pharmacy Operations Leader to oversee inpatient pharmacy operations, drive strategic initiatives, and partner with clinical and operational leaders across acute care settings.
This role provides
enterprise-level leadership across inpatient pharmacy practice, with responsibility for operational performance, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, medication-use initiatives, talent development, and strategic implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across inpatient pharmacy services.
- Partner with acute care, infusion, medical center, nursing, laboratory, and physician leadership to implement pharmacy priorities.
- Lead and develop pharmacy supervisors and operational teams across assigned areas.
- Drive quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
- Oversee medication-use management, formulary initiatives, drug utilization strategies, and pharmacy programs.
- Develop and implement pharmacy processes, standards, training, and best practices.
- Provide advanced pharmaceutical consultation to healthcare providers and senior leaders.
- Monitor medication utilization, drug availability, inventory, and supply-related issues and develop strategic solutions.
- Ensure compliance with DEA, Washington State Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Lead pharmacy education and training initiatives for pharmacists, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to support safe, effective, rational, and cost-effective medication use.
- Oversee operational and project budgets and ensure resources are aligned with business priorities.
- Coach, mentor, and develop pharmacy leaders while supporting succession planning and talent development.
- Use data, performance metrics, and industry trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Lead complex initiatives involving medication management, formulary operations, clinical programs, and enterprise-wide pharmacy priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacy degree.
- PGY1 residency + 3+ years of pharmacist/pharmacy experience OR
5+ years of pharmacist/pharmacy experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience with direct reports.
- 2+ years of experience managing operational or project budgets.
- Active Washington Pharmacist License required at hire.
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required within 6 months of hire.

senior pharmacy operations leader with strong inpatient/acute-care experience and a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex pharmacy operations, implement medication-use initiatives, and collaborate with physicians, nursing, and executive leadership.
Experience with
hospital pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, formulary management, drug utilization, quality improvement, and enterprise-level pharmacy initiatives is highly valued.
