Qualifications
EDUCATION (number of years and type required to perform the position duties):
Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work.
EXPERIENCE (number of years and type required to meet an acceptable level of performance):
For Connecticut, consistent with LCSW licensure requirements, 3,000 hours of post-master's social work experience
and 100 hours of post-master's clinical supervision.
For Rhode Island, consistent with LICSW licensure requirements, 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed
clinical social worker under appropriate supervision.
SPECIAL SKILLS: The LCSW will possess the following special skills: empathy, active listening, critical thinking, strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families.

Position Overview
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the
assessment and treatment of patients, families and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in a
variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System.
As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling,
psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other
project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will work
collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization.
