Propulsion Controls Engineering has a job opening for an Inside / Outside Machinist Journeyman, with a minimum of 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred; supporting our Bremerton & Everett, Washington locations.
Job Summary / Inside / Outside Machinist Journeyman:
The Inside / Outside Machinist Journeyman, fabricates parts using basic machine shop machinery: horizontal lathes, milling machines, drill/hydraulic presses. Performs machine set-ups without supervision. Able to read complex blueprints, drawings and sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances. Proficient in use of precision measuring equipment and instruments. Effectively assist in the disassembly, match marking and cleaning, inspection and reassembly of equipment / components such as: pumps, motors and various valves, etc. Possesses the ability to conduct pump/motor aligments. Perform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on diesel marine engines and related marine equipment and systems using work specifications and technical manuals.
