ROLE: Inside Sales Representative

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HVAC Inside Sales Representative is responsible for re-engaging previously contacted or “warm” leads and customers who received quotes or showed interest but did not move forward—and converting those opportunities into sales. This is not cold calling; instead, you will follow up on leads that have already been generated. You will work closely with the sales manager to identify opportunities, understand customer needs, overcome objections, and close the deal. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, follow-up discipline, and the ability to build rapport quickly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow up with past leads (via phone, email, SMS, etc.) who previously didn’t move forward, and explore opportunities to reconnect and provide value.
  • Qualify leads to determine viability and understand customer objections or barriers
  • Present HVAC solutions including equipment, service plans, and system upgrades tailored to customer needs
  • Educate customers on benefits, features, and return on investment for proposed HVAC equipment or services
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, financing, or incentives to close the sale
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and status updates in the CRM
  • Monitor and manage your pipeline to ensure consistent follow-up and movement through the sales cycle
  • Collaborate with installation, service, and internal teams to coordinate handoffs and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Meet or exceed individual sales quotas, KPIs, and performance targets
    Report on performance, stalled deals, customer trends, and market feedback to management
    Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Proven experience in sales, inside sales, telemarketing, or rehash/in-home sales (HVAC or home services preferred)
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills; able to build rapport quickly
  • Resilient mindset with ability to handle objections and rejection professionally
  • Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and disciplined with follow-up
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to understand basic HVAC concepts and explain them simply to customers
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple leads simultaneously
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend follow-ups as needed
