Inside Sales Representative

Department: Sales
Reports To: Sales Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt (Salary)

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, growing existing customer relationships, and supporting the outside sales team through proactive phone sales and customer engagement. This position serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and existing customers seeking waste collection, recycling, roll-off, and related environmental services.

Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, strong customer service, persistence, and the ability to identify customer needs and recommend the appropriate service solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through outbound calls, emails, and follow-up with leads.
  • Respond promptly to inbound sales inquiries.
  • Prepare and present service quotes for residential, commercial, industrial, and roll-off customers.
  • Follow up on outstanding proposals to close sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Cross-sell and upsell additional services such as recycling, temporary roll-off containers, compactors, and specialty waste services.
  • Work with Customer Service, Dispatch, and Operations to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities within the company software.
  • Monitor customer accounts for growth opportunities.
  • Assist in retaining customers by resolving service concerns and identifying solutions.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Stay knowledgeable about company pricing, service areas, competitors, and industry trends.
  • Participate in sales meetings and ongoing training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two or more years of inside sales, business development, or customer service experience.
  • Waste industry, transportation, logistics, or environmental services experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Compensation

  • Salary: $50,000.00 plus Commission
  • Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with Company match, paid time off, and company-paid life insurance.
