Inside Sales Representative - Industrial Supplies & Tooling

Productivity Inc. is looking for an experienced Industrial Distribution Customer Service Specialist or Inside Sales Representative to join our Cutting Tools & Industrial Supplies team. This is a customer-facing, technical support and account service role-not a cold-calling sales position. You will leverage your knowledge of industrial supplies, cutting tools, and distributor operations to help our manufacturing customers succeed.

What You'll Do

• Deliver exceptional day-to-day customer service, managing inbound inquiries via phone, email, and over-the-counter interactions.
• Process customer orders, prepare quotes, manage will-call requests, and provide general order assistance.
• Help manufacturing customers select the right cutting tools, drills, taps, inserts, holders, and industrial supplies.
• Coordinate with our technical team to recommend tooling solutions based on workpiece material and machining applications.
• Continuously expand your technical tooling knowledge through manufacturer-led training and product education.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

• 3+ years of customer service, inside sales, or counter sales experience within an industrial distributor (e.g., Grainger, MSC, PT Solutions, Fastenal, or similar).
• Strong familiarity with industrial supplies, vendor-managed inventory, or cutting tool product lines.
• Proficiency with distributor ERP and inventory management systems.
• Excellent communication skills, a professional phone presence, and a genuine desire to solve customer problems.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn highly technical product catalogs.
• Hands-on CNC machining experience or a basic understanding of milling, turning, drilling, and cutting tool manufacturers (Sandvik, Kennametal, Iscar, etc.) is a major plus, but not required-we will train the right distribution professional.
