U.S. Water is a fast-paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida, with a staff of over 950 employees in twenty states.GENERAL PURPOSEThe Inside Sales Representative – Municipal & Wastewater Pumps is responsible for providing technical sales support to customers, contractors, municipalities, and internal teams regarding wastewater, municipal, and pumping equipment. This position combines technical knowledge with customer service and sales skills to understand customer needs, recommend appropriate equipment and solutions, prepare quotations, and support projects from initial inquiry through order fulfillment.The ideal candidate will have knowledge of municipal and wastewater pumping systems, lift stations, pumps, controls, and related equipment, along with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRespond to customer inquiries regarding municipal, wastewater, and pumping equipment.Assist customers in identifying appropriate pump and equipment solutions based on application requirements.Review customer specifications, project requirements, drawings, and equipment information.Provide technical assistance and product recommendations to customers and sales representatives.Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and product selections based on customer requirements.Review pump curves, specifications, equipment schedules, and related technical information as needed.Work with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, lead times, technical information, and product documentation.Coordinate with outside sales representatives, engineering, operations, purchasing, and project management teams.Maintain accurate customer, project, quotation, and order information.Follow up on quotations and assist with converting opportunities into orders.Assist customers with product questions, troubleshooting, and general technical support.Help identify replacement and retrofit opportunities for existing municipal and wastewater pump systems.Support the sales team with product research, pricing, submittals, and technical documentation.Assist with preparing equipment submittals and ensuring products meet project specifications.Review purchase orders and customer requirements for accuracy and completeness.Communicate project updates, changes, lead times, and potential issues to appropriate personnel.Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, municipalities, contractors, engineers, and vendors.Stay current on pump products, wastewater applications, municipal specifications, and industry practices.Maintain knowledge of company products, manufacturers, pricing, and available equipment.Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSKnowledge of wastewater and municipal pumping systems.Understanding of submersible, centrifugal, sewage, grinder, and/or dry-pit pump applications.Familiarity with lift stations and wastewater collection systems.Ability to understand pump curves, flow requirements, head pressure, and basic pump selection principles.Ability to read and interpret equipment specifications, technical documents, drawings, and project requirements.Knowledge of pump controls, motors, floats, valves, piping, and related equipment is preferred.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.Ability to learn and effectively use company ERP, CRM, quoting, and other software systems.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple quotations and customer requests simultaneously.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Technical degree, vocational training, or coursework in water/wastewater, mechanical systems, engineering, or a related field is preferred.Previous experience with pumps, wastewater equipment, municipal utilities, mechanical equipment, or technical sales is strongly preferred.Previous inside sales, customer service, estimating, or equipment application experience is preferred.Experience working with municipalities, contractors, engineers, or water/wastewater professionals is a plus.Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be customer-focused and able to establish and maintain professional relationships.Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Must be able to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction with customers, vendors, manufacturers, sales personnel, engineers, and other internal departments.Occasional travel, customer visits, jobsite visits, trade shows, manufacturer training, or other business-related travel may be required.Compensation and Benefits: Pay is commensurate with experience and market-reflective.
