ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a driven Inside Sales Representative who enjoys being the daily, operational point of contact for customers while actively building relationships and finding ways to grow business.  This is not a pure transactional customer service role as you’ll work directly with accounts to understand their needs, keep orders moving smoothly, resolve issues quickly, and spot opportunities for additional products or solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • •Act as the primary daily contact for assigned customer accounts. Including handling inquiries on availability, lead times, product specs, and order status with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • •Proactively reach out to customers to check on upcoming needs, anticipate reorders, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to expand business.
  • •Accurately enter, track, and manage customer orders from receipt through fulfillment. Coordinate closely with production, shipping, quality, and logistics teams across our plants to meet delivery commitments and resolve bottlenecks.
  • •Prepare and follow up on quotes and proposals within guidelines; work to close business and keep pipelines moving.
  • •Work within the organization to quickly address and resolve customer complaints, delivery issues, quality concerns, or returns. Escalate technical questions appropriately while keeping customers informed.
  • •Maintain clean, up-to-date customer records, order history, and interaction notes in our systems.
  • •Support outside account managers by providing account updates, preparing information for meetings, and helping transition opportunities or issues.
  • •Build product and application knowledge of our carbon black grades and how they’re used in tire and rubber manufacturing so you can advise customers effectively.
  • •Participate in sales meetings, share customer insights, and contribute ideas for improving service or growing accounts.
  • •Other duties as needed to support the sales and customer experience team.
  • •2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service/account management, or order management in a B2B industrial, manufacturing, chemical, or distribution environment (experience within chemical/manufacturing is a plus, but not an absolute requirement).
  • •Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a proactive, “get things done” mentality. You enjoy talking to customers and finding ways to help them while also growing the business.
  • •Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while paying close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • •Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook). Experience with ERP or CRM systems is helpful.
  • •Willingness to learn about our product line and industry applications. Prior carbon black knowledge is a plus, but not a requirement as we’ll train on the specifics.
  • •High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
