R&M Equipment Company is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented
Inside Sales Support Specialist to support our Mobile Power Division. This position plays a critical role in supporting customers, and outside sales personnel by providing technical sales support, preparing quotations, processing orders, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a technical aptitude for hydraulic systems, Power Take-Offs (PTOs), pumps, valves, reservoirs, truck mounted blowers and related mobile power equipment. This individual will also work closely with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and internal departments to provide accurate and timely solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Support customers and outside sales personnel with product selection, application assistance, and technical inquiries.
- Prepare quotations for PTOs, hydraulic pumps, motors, truck blower, valves, reservoirs, wet line kits, and related mobile power components.
- Review customer specifications and equipment requirements to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently through internal ERP systems.
- Follow up on quotations, open orders, and customer requests to maximize sales opportunities.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, service, and accounting departments to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Maintain customer records, pricing information, and sales opportunities within company databases.
- Work directly with manufacturers and vendors regarding product availability, lead times, pricing, and technical support.
- Assist customers with warranty claims, product returns, and issue resolution.
- Generate and maintain sales reports, quote logs, and customer activity records.
- Monitor open quotations and proactively pursue opportunities for order conversion.
- Support inventory management by identifying commonly requested products and assisting with stocking recommendations.
- Participate in product training programs and maintain current knowledge of hydraulic and mobile power products.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, such as shop assembly of PTO’s and Pumps, UPS shipping and inventory maintenance.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, sales support, or a related role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hydraulic, mobile power, or industrial equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Ability to learn technical product specifications and application requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with hydraulic systems, PTOs, pumps, motors, valves, or truck equipment.
- Experience using ERP, CRM, or order-entry software.
- Knowledge of Muncie Power Products, Parker Hannifin, Chelsea PTOs, or similar hydraulic product lines.
- Experience supporting distributors, OEMs, municipalities, contractors, or fleet customers.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift and move product literature, samples, or small components up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to visit warehouse and service areas as required.
