Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining and developing customers while representing Chatham Steel Corporation in processing sales.

Function in the Job

Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Job Function

• Two (2)+ years of college preferred
• Experience in the metals industry strongly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong computer skills
• Solid mathematical and analytical skills (fractions, decimals and percentages)
• Must effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations
• Team Player
• Must be self-motivated
• Ability to locate and identify material (thickness, size, grade, heat number)
• Must be able to read blueprints and interpret customer drawings (essential)
• Must be willing to assist with special projects

Required Skills

• Sales experience desired; some form of industrial sales experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to grow sales and margins
• Ability to handle busy, stressful situations including multi-tasking
• Strong attention to detail, high accuracy level of work
• Knowledge of oxy-fuel and plasma burning machines, shear, saws and production equipment is a must
• AutoCAD preferred
• SigmaNEST preferred
