Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Inspection & Repair Operator 1 to join a growing operations team supporting electronics manufacturing processes. This position is ideal for candidates with basic component inspection and electronics touch-up skills who enjoy working with precision while working in a fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing visual inspections, utilizing basic manufacturing tools, and interpreting process documentation while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and online "go/no go" inspections of various electronics, subassemblies, and peripherals to identify defects according to workmanship standards.
- Perform basic touch-ups, modifications, and manual repairs on components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
- Set up workstations with correct process inspection documents, screens, and workflow instructions.
- Read and interpret manufacturing process instructions, visual aids, and drawings using tools like microscopes and magnifying lenses.
- Scan products and accurately enter tracking data into the shop floor control system or manual logs.
- Document workloads daily, calculating the exact number of products inspected and rejected.
- Communicate process problems quickly with peers, leads, and supervisors to minimize line disruptions.
- Promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and managing repetitive motion tasks safely.
Qualifications
- Completion of a high school degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of related electronics manufacturing experience.
- Ability to solder and a solid understanding of basic component inspection techniques.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow basic manufacturing process instructions and visual aids.
- Experience using electronic assembly tools, interpreting color codes, and performing point-to-point wiring or mechanical assembly.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) utilizing weight and distance measurements.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but routine written or oral instructions.
- Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively under general supervision.
