What we’re looking for:
Looking for a highly motivated Technician, Inspection.
What you’ll be doing:- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined components, assemblies, and finished products from both in-house manufacturing and external suppliers to ensure conformance with design specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform complex, high-precision measurements and first-article inspections (FAI). Calypso Software.
- Conduct manual inspections using a variety of precision measurement tools, including micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including a strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME/ANSI standards.
- Document and report inspection results by creating detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and providing data for quality review and statistical analysis.
Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves) – Highlight Top 3-5 skills- High school diploma or GED or preferred experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Quality Control environment. Working with machined components in all phases of inspection, including receiving, first article, and final inspection.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience operating CMM equipment. Proven experience with manual inspection techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn the use of basic precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometres, callipers, height gauges).
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and documentation.
- Aptitude for learning CMM software and other required quality data systems.
Physical requirements are listed below but not limited to:- Sitting at the inspection station for the majority of the workday approximately 6 hours per day
- Walking-Occasionally/Intermittent Up to 1 hour per day
- Standing- Occasionally/Intermittent (for spring testing 6 hours possible)
- Lifting/Carrying - Up to 25 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
- Pushing/Pulling-between 25-50 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent (for part transfer on a cart)
Added bonus if you have (Preferred):- Experience in small volume/high quality automotive machined components production.
- Experience with automotive or aerospace components.
- Experience with receiving inspection requirements including FA inspection.
- Experience on surface finish measurement
