DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To support product quality, compliance, and development initiatives by performing testing, inspection, documentation, equipment verification, and regulatory assessments in accordance with company procedures and industry standards

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

•Perform setup, testing, and evaluation of finished goods, components, circuitry, modules, and subassemblies used in Pride products

•Perform inspections to verify critical dimensional, material, and workmanship specifications for components, assemblies, and equipment

•Create and maintain testing and inspection records by documenting results, compiling data, and generating reports

•Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and maintain records in accordance with company and departmental procedures supporting Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

•Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and compliance checks on test and inspection equipment, ensuring all instruments meet Pride calibration standards

•Participate in special projects, continuous improvement efforts, and Lean initiatives while meeting established deadlines

•Apply sound business judgment, support design change processes, and assist product research and development activities in support of Pride's business objectives

•Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable industry standards, including RESNA, ISO, IEC, IPC, ASTM, and GD&T, to accurately perform product testing, inspection, and verification activities

•Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA, PDAC, ADP, EU MDR, and TGA, to verify product compliance in intended markets

•Maintain familiarity with additional regulatory requirements, including FCC, DOE, EPA, DOT, and FAA standards, as applicable

•Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Pride testing, inspection, and R&D procedures, as well as technical documentation such as engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), forms, and charts

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management 

•Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment 

•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

•Must be a team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and honest

 

Must have the ability to:

•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

•Safely use hand tools and standard power tools

•Use testing and inspection equipment which includes calipers, micrometers, GO/NO-GO gauges, height, thread and pin gauges, V-blocks, surface plates, hardness testers, torque testers, electrical testers, optical comparator, digital multimeters and oscilloscopes

•Design, develop and document test fixtures and testing protocols

•Read and comprehend work instructions

•Prepare and present summary reports

•Lift/push/pull 50 lbs.

 

Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods

•Basic working knowledge of product safety and regulatory requirements such as FDA & OSHA

•Basic working knowledge of hand and standard power tools

•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel

•Excellent web navigation skills 

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

PREEFRRED SKILLS

•Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred

•Basic familiarity with American National Standards Institute/Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (ANSI/RESNA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards preferred

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

•At least 1 year of hands on technical or engineering related experience in a professional or educational environment supporting design, manufacturing, or product verification processes

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

•At least 1 year of experience building electrical and mechanical test fixtures preferred

•At least 1 year of experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred

•American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification preferred 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
