    Description

    SUMMARY

    Converting inspector reviews the quality of the finished plastic bag and packing out the bags, maintains proper inventory of supplies necessary for packaging product. Packages finished goods to their correct containers and prepares them for shipment using various equipment's for packaging while following specific set of standards and requirements. Other responsibilities include various housekeeping duties and conducts quality inspections according to work order specifications.

    TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    § Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated personal protective equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements.

    § Supports and adheres to all Hood's procedures and protocols.

    § Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member.

    § Maintains all aspects of housekeeping according to plant policies and procedures.

    § Provides feedback to the shift lead and supervisor on equipment or production issues.

    § Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met.

    § Conduct monthly safety requirements BOP's.

    § Maintains inventory of supplies such as cores, cartons, and other packaging materials.

    § Inspects finished products for defects, such as wrinkles, bubbles, splits, color, bad seals, printing error, etc.

    § Packages and palletizes finished product according to instructions.

    § Weighs and records all film scrap.

    § Cuts defective film from rolls.

    § Associate will install rigid handles with the use of a sonic press.

    § General material handling without the use of a forklift. Only hand operated material handling equipment will be used.

    § Reports all safety and maintenance problems to Supervisor.

    § Maintains working area in clean and orderly condition.

    § Assists operator during the startup and change process if needed.

    § Performs other duties of a like nature as assigned by Supervisor.

    § Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.

    § Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member

    § Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility/corporate standards.

    § Adhere to all GMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements.

    § Cleans machine and area according to schedule.

    § Performs inspections per Quality Procedure

    § Completes all required tracking forms (Job Plan, Shift Run Report, Quality Sheet, and checklists)

    § Ensures pre-setup tasks are completed for each order.

    § Initiates and supports improvement initiatives.

    § Operate and maintain assigned line to maintain safety, quality, and productivity in a 24/7 facility working 12 hour rotating shifts.

    § Other duties as instructed by Supervisor or Lead
