Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to support municipal infrastructure projects by conducting field inspections and ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
This role plays a key part in maintaining quality, safety, and adherence to construction standards.
Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, plans, and specifications

Conduct field inspections of construction sites

Ensure compliance with contract documents and technical requirements

Verify materials meet project specifications
-
Confirm proper notification to residents in affected areas

Issue correction notices and may serve violation citations
-
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
-
Research and evaluate plans and drawings
-
Prepare and submit technical reports
Qualifications
Education:
-
High school diploma or GED required
-
Up to 18 months of education or training in inspection or related field preferred
Experience:
-
Minimum of 2 years of journey-level experience in inspection or related field
Preferred Certifications (may be required within 11 months)

Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Occupancy Inspection Certifications
-
ICBO, IAPMO, IAEA, or equivalent certifications
-
QEI Elevator Inspector Certification (if applicable)
