Inspector Insures that all inspection and documentation of work processed within the facility is done in accordance with the Work Order and applicable quality assurance, manufacturing and safety procedures. Duties Determine sample size and prepare parts for testing Perform visual inspection for cleanliness, scale, discoloration, blistering, protective, case depth effectiveness or any evidence of improper heat treating Conduct testing using standard metallurgical laboratory procedure, including but not limited to verifying charts, macrohardness, microhardness, metallurgical, surface contamination, metallographic, and mechanical property, record results. Performs daily calibration for lab equipment requiring calibration to ensure it is in good working order; notifies supervisor if equipment is out of calibration. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Receives direction and training from supervisor(s). Performs all work in a safe manner, to include proper use of personal protective equipment. Maintains an accurate record of all work performed in the appropriate company format, including complete documentation within the work orders. Maintains work area, tools and equipment in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or higher preferred; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Computer Skills Ability to use Microsoft Office, business software, and data acquisition system Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
