    Job Description

    Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Inspector, Fixed Equipment located in Carlsbad, NM through August 18th, 2026 at 11:59 PM (CT).

    The Fixed Equipment Integrity Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and overseeing asset integrity inspection programs for pipelines and fixed equipment across MCBU operations. This role supports the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of assets through inspection, assessment, integrity management, and repair recommendations.

    The position requires close collaboration with Operations, Facilities Engineering, Central Maintenance, IMPACT teams, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure inspection programs are executed effectively and economically while maintaining compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.

    Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

    • Plan, perform, and oversee asset integrity inspections for pipelines and fixed equipment.

    • Evaluate inspection results and provide recommendations to support safe and reliable asset operation.

    • Review Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations, identify integrity risks, and develop corrective action plans.

    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of fixed equipment design, corrosion mechanisms, degradation mechanisms, and repair methods.

    • Collaborate with Operations, Facilities Engineering, Central Maintenance, and IMPACT teams to develop and execute inspection campaigns and repair strategies.

    • Schedule inspections and maintain accurate records within Inspection Data Management Systems (IDMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

    • Support inspection planning activities associated with maintenance events, turnarounds, and integrity programs.

    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations related to equipment failures, corrosion, erosion, and material degradation.

    • Review inspection reports, prepare equipment integrity summaries, and develop repair recommendations.

    • Promote Operational Excellence, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and Chevron Way behaviors.

    • Utilize digital tools and data systems to support inspection, integrity management, and equipment reliability activities.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • One or more current certifications such as API 570, API 510, API 653, National Board Commission, CWI, or UT/MT Level II.

    • Demonstrated experience inspecting, evaluating, and repairing pipelines, refining, chemical, gas processing, or similar industrial equipment.

    • Strong knowledge of API/ASME codes, regulatory requirements, corrosion mechanisms, and fixed equipment integrity practices.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Inspection Technology, Materials Science, or a related technical field.

    • Experience performing or reviewing Fitness-for-Service evaluations, risk-based inspection programs, and major inspection campaigns.

    • Experience utilizing IDMS, CMMS, SAP, or similar asset integrity and maintenance management systems.

    • Experience supporting upstream oil and gas operations, turnarounds, reliability programs, or Root Cause Analysis investigations.
