PGS Worldwide is seeking an Inspector in New Orleans, LA for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Inspector will perform visual and dimensional inspections on in-process and completed products, including electronic units, subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and subassemblies. This role requires inspection experience, SAP/VECAMS experience, Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to work from blueprints, specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists.
Required Skills
- 4–6 years of inspection experience.
- SAP experience.
- VECAMS experience.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Microsoft Word experience.
- Experience using measuring devices such as scales, micrometers, dial indicators, fixtures, and torque tools.
- Ability to inspect electronic units, subsystems, electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
- Ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists.
- Ability to accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, space systems, manufacturing, quality inspection, or high-reliability production environments.
- Experience monitoring or verifying quality using statistical process control or other quality control procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect in-process and completed products using predetermined methods, operations, setups, and specifications.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and structural assemblies.
- Use measuring devices and inspection tools to verify product quality.
- Review work against blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists.
- Identify defects, structural flaws, internal defects, missing welds, and nonconforming conditions.
- Accept, reject, or support rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
- Document inspection results using SAP, VECAMS, Microsoft Word, and Office tools.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with applicable control procedures.
