  Provide visual and precision inspection of assemblies during the production process. Follow specifications, drawings, process sheets, engineering change orders and written and verbal instruction to inspect components subassemblies and assemblies against required quality standards (i.e., proper component orientation, masking, soldering, coating, measurements, etc.). Utilizes basic precision tools such as verniers, microscopes, and gauges required to perform inspections. May use more complex tools such as omega meters. Identifies and documents defects, NCR reports, and calculates defect rates against specified control limits. Inspects and tests components, subassemblies and assemblies after rework, modifications or repairs to verify defects have been corrected and ensure continuity to drawings, prints, etc. Verifies configuration of product to ensure conformity to most recent revision. Prepares basic inspection data and inputs into the Shop Floor Data System for future review and evaluation. Maintains required records. Conducts process audits in all phases of manufacturing and inspection (i.e., calibration, materials, process sheets, etc.) to confirm processes are being accurately followed. May interface with engineering regarding technical issues (i.e., clarification of engineering change orders) and problem resolution. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
SKILLS: Inspector Required education: Minimum High School/GED, requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience 3+ years preferred, IPC-610 trained, or active certification a plus. Job function includes Uses of predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to visually inspect CCA's, Final Inspection, in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, sub assemblies, review of structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds/components. Uses various measuring devices and testing equipment. Accepts, rejects, and dispositions for rework, defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer, regulatory and BAE specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Inspector
  • Ability to read product and process specific documentation and utilize inspection tools, and must be able to meet specified certification requirements usually gained through one (2) years of experience.
  • IPC-610 Cert or trained preferred.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Inspector The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience and IPC-610 certification/trained. Knowledge of electronic inspections, and experience authoring NCR's.
