Installation Technician
The Installation Technician (IT) is responsible for providing labor services related to performing
the physical construction and installation aspects of various telecommunications facilities
including DAS, Wi Fi, Cell Towers, Femto Cells and Small Cells.
The Installation Technician's Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
" Reports to the Director of Construction Services
" May be supervised by the Operations Technician or Operations Manager at
different assigned projects
" Provides support for construction needs including but not limited to: cable
pulling, connectorizing, mounting of equipment, assembling racks, testing
lines (coaxial and fiber optic cable), troubleshooting systems, preventative
maintenance, CW testing and commissioning
" When directed, must attend required training and must qualify for and
maintain required technical certifications for the installation of the various
OEM equipment, coaxial and fiber optic cables
" Conducts all business in accordance with Company policies and procedures
" Performs all other tasks that may be required or requested by their supervisor
Installation Technicians are required to be familiar with the following technologies: Microsoft
Office Suite of software including but not limited to Mail, Calendar, People, OneDrive,
SharePoint, Planner, Tasks, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher and MS Project.
Installation Technicians are also required to become proficient with the Company's Project
Management Tools as well as any other technology the Company deploys.
Installation Technicians should familiarize themselves with the use of the following testing
equipment: with the use of the following testing equipment such as but not limited to: Solutelia,
Anritsu PIM, OTDR and other equipment necessary to perform their assigned tasks. They should
also familiarize themselves with the interpretation of RF data collection, coaxial sweep test
results, OTDR and CAT type cable test. In addition, Installation Technicians should become
familiar with the technology for the various OEMs the Company generally installs including but
not limited to: Corning MobileAccess, Solid, JMA, ADRF, Commscope, and others.
