    The Engagement and Wellbeing Assistant Director advances Pitt's commitment under Plan for Pitt 2028 to cultivate a welcoming, engaged community (Pillar 3). This serves as a strategic consultant for the community and leads the design and delivery of education, training, professional development, and workshops that help build a culture of belonging, connection, and wellbeing among all stakeholder groups across the university. The individual in this role will be a skilled facilitator, educator, and program designer who is energized by building the conditions for people and the university community to thrive.

    Situated within the Office of Institutional Engagement and Wellbeing, this role sits at the intersection of organizational culture, learning, and engagement strategy. The incumbent in this role will support a broader range of campus community-building initiatives including the Pitt Inclusion Network. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with campus partners, including Human Resources and Student Affairs, to ensure that campus engagement and wellbeing education aligns with the university's broader talent, retention, and organizational development landscape.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in organizational development, human resources, education, or a related field.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience designing and facilitating education, professional development, training, or workshop programming in an organizational or higher education setting.
    • Demonstrated experience collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional partners to develop curriculum and programming content.
    • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences across a variety of formats and settings.
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based approaches to education and professional development.
    • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and creating learning environments where all people feel seen and supported.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in a relevant field.
    • Experience in workplace wellbeing, employee engagement, or organizational culture initiatives.
    • Familiarity with assessment tools, program evaluation, and data-driven approaches to learning design.
    • Experience working in a complex, decentralized institution such as a research university.
