Summary:
Assists
in
strengthening
learning
experiences
for
students
in
assigned
areas
of
study,
under
the
supervision
of
a
certified
teacher,
administrator
and
other
team
member;
perform
a
variety
of
clerical,
supportive
and
student
supervisory
tasks.
DUTIES
&
ESSENTIAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works
cooperatively
and
maintains
effective
relationships
with
students,
teachers,
district
personnel,
and
the
general
public,
as
is
applicable
to
the
position.
Demonstrates
a
positive
and
encouraging
attitude
in
the
classroom.
Separates
those
items
that
are
of
a
confidential
nature
from
those
that
are
not.
Communicates
with
teachers
of
students
Assists
instructional
personnel
with
the
development
and
presentation
of
learning
materials
and
instructional
exercises.
Data
entry
Works
with
students
on
a
one-to-one
or
small
group
basis
as
assigned
by
the
teacher
and/or
principal.
Assists
assigned
students
by
working
in
the
regular
classroom
under
classroom
teacher's
direction
Sets
and
works
toward
goals
established
with
a
supervising
teacher.
Supervises
students
during
classroom
activities,
in
library,
on
field
trips,
at
lunch,
and
recess.
Maintains
classroom
order
and
follows
instructional
plans
in
the
absence
of
the
teacher.
Performs
data
entry
and/or
Medicaid
billing
Performs
clerical
duties,
such
as
filing,
typing,
receives
and
places
telephone
calls
including
recorded
messages,
greets
and
assists
visitor's,
duplicates
materials,
and
records
student
data.
Operates
a
variety
of
instructional
media,
office
machines
and
equipment;
demonstrates
willingness
to
learn
equipment
as
needed.
Provides
additional
assistance
with
playground,
bus,
lunch
duty,
crossing
guard
etc.,
as
directed
by
the
school
principal
or
teacher.

certified
teacher's

clerical
work
and
basic
arithmetical
calculations.
QUALIFICATIONS
&
REQUIREMENTS:
High
School
diploma
or
equivalent
Experience
working
with
children
with
some
behavioral
management
and/or
special
education
desired.
Demonstrated
understanding,
patience
and
receptive
attitude
towards
children.
One
of
the
following:
An
Associate's
degree
or
higher
OR
Completed
two
years
of
study
(equaling
60
or
more
credit
hours)
from
an
accredited
institution
of
higher
education
OR
Obtained
a
passing
score
on
one
of
the
Arizona
Department
of
Education
approved
Paraprofessional
assessments*
demonstrating
knowledge
of
and
the
ability
to
assist
students
in
reading,
writing
and
mathematics.
