    Sweetwater School District Number One Instructional Assistant Testing & Data to Inform Instruction and MTSS Job Title: Instructional Assistant Location: District Reports To: Curriculum Director Terms of Employment: Part Time / Temporary (Temporary Instructional Assistant positions are time-limited assignments, seasonal testing window, or grant-funded period, as specified at hire.) Nature and Scope of Job The Instructional Assistant supports student learning by administering student testing, and by gathering assessment data to help teachers and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team plan and monitor instruction. This role bridges assessment and instructional practice, ensuring that data collected through screening, progress monitoring, and diagnostic testing is accurate, timely, and put to direct use in the classroom and in MTSS decision-making. Temporary Instructional Assistant: This position may also be filled on a temporary basis to cover a defined period of need for example, concentrated testing/screening window. A Temporary Instructional Assistant performs all of the essential job functions listed below for the duration of the assignment, with the same expectations for training, confidentiality, and professional conduct as the regular part-time role. The position ends upon completion of the specified assignment or date, at which point continued employment is not guaranteed. Essential Job Functions Assessment & Data Collection

    1. Participates in initial and ongoing training pertaining to student testing, progress monitoring tools, and district assessment platforms.
    2. Administers assessments to students as required for universal screening, progress monitoring, diagnostic assessment, and other purposes, following standardized administration procedures.
    3. Accurately records assessment data so it is available for instructional and MTSS decision-making. Using Data to Inform Instruction and MTSS
    4. Supports teachers and the MTSS team by helping compile, screening, progress-monitoring, and diagnostic data for use in data review meetings. Professional Conduct
    5. Maintains confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff, or parents/guardians in any public setting, and chooses the appropriate time, place, and supervisor to discuss problems.
    6. At all times, uses positive verbal and non-verbal communication and interaction skills when working with students, parents, and all district personnel. Other Functions

      • Basic knowledge of the internet and electronic mail.
      • Basic understanding of universal screening, progress monitoring, and diagnostic assessment concepts, and of how a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework uses data to guide instruction.
      • Ability to accurately administer standardized assessments and record data with fidelity.
      • Ability to enunciate clearly and communicate positively throughout the work day.
      • Ability to follow and successfully complete both written and oral directions.
      • Ability to think clearly and calculate accurately.
      • Ability to work with people of various personality types.
      • Possess sound emotional judgment. Education, License, Certification or Formal Training

      • Visual acuity and stamina to work with varied sizes and types of written material throughout the work day.

      • Auditory discrimination sufficient to receive detailed information through normal speech at 5 feet and warning cries or alarms above normal classroom and playground noise. Environmental Demands
