SPECIAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT FULL TIME & PERMANENT POSITION Effective Immediately for the 2026-2027 school year QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, 60 college credits is recommended but not required and experience working with children SUMMARY: The Special Education Instructional Assistant assists special education classroom teachers and job coaches. The Special Educa tion Instructional Assistant may also be required to provide one to one support for students with disabilities. The Special Educat ion Instructional Assistant assists teachers in the implementation of instructional activities in school and community settings a nd in individual, small and large group instruction using instructional materials and equipment prescribed by the professional staf f. Duties may vary according to the needs of the students as per their Individualized Education Plan for the student to which the Speci al Education Instructional Assistant is assigned. In addition, the Special Education Classroom Instructional Assistant assists the teacher in implementing, reinforcing, and re cording appropriate student responses in school and community training experiences as established by instructional staff in the area of personal, domestic, academic, recreation, vocational and interpersonal communication/social skills; identifies and records in dividual student responses at school and community training experiences as established by instructional staff in the area of personal, domesti c, academic, recreation, vocational and interpersonal communication/social skills; according to predetermined program criteria, accompanies students, individually or in small groups, to business or other locations in the community; helps pupils with per sonal habits and self -care skills which include feeding, dressing and grooming; assists teachers with proper positioning of students; and performs related work as required

EVALUATION: In accordance with Board of Education Policy

SALARY: EEA Instructional Assistant Salary Guide 2026-2027, with anticipated range of Step 1 - $29,527 - Step 11- $36,692 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Medical, dental, Rx and vision benefits are offered. Employees will contribute an amount toward health benefit premiums in accordance with an established table. The amount of contribution will be determined by the type of coverage (i.e. - single, family), the amount of the total premium assessed for coverage and the amount of the employee's salary.
