Position Summary

The Instructional Coach plays a critical role in supporting teachers to improve instructional practices, enhance student learning outcomes, and create an engaging, rigorous, and equitable learning environment. The coach provides job-embedded professional development, models effective teaching strategies, and collaborates with educators to ensure high-quality instruction across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Support & Teacher Development

  • Provide instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers through one-on-one support, classroom observations, and feedback cycles.
  • Model effective teaching strategies and co-teach lessons to support best practices in instruction.
  • Facilitate professional development workshops focused on curriculum implementation, differentiated instruction, culturally responsive teaching, and data-driven instruction.
  • Support teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement strategies.

Data-Driven Instruction

  • Analyze student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers and leadership to implement data-informed instructional strategies.
  • Support teachers in utilizing formative and summative assessments to drive instruction.
  • Assist in monitoring student progress and implementing intervention strategies to close achievement gaps.

Curriculum & Program Development

  • Ensure alignment of instructional practices with school goals, state standards, and best educational practices.
  • Provide support in implementing curriculum materials, resources, and instructional technology.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to evaluate and refine curriculum and instructional programs.
  • Stay current on educational research and share innovative teaching strategies with staff.

Collaborative Leadership

  • Work closely with school administrators, grade-level teams, and content area specialists to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and reflective practice among teachers.
  • Assist in developing a school-wide culture of academic excellence and high expectations for all students.
  • Serve as a resource for new and developing teachers, helping them transition into the school community.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Support teachers in building strong relationships with students and families.
  • Assist in organizing parent workshops and information sessions on instructional strategies and student learning.
  • Advocate for equity and inclusion in all instructional practices and family engagement initiatives.
