Job Title: Instructional Coach

Exemption Status/Test: Exempt/Administrator in an Educational Establishment

Reports to: Director of Curriculum & Instruction / Campus Principal

Primary Purpose:

Provide instructional leadership and support to improve teaching effectiveness and student achievement. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement aligned curriculum, analyze student data, and promote the use of research-based instructional practices that support district and campus goals.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

- Master's degree in education, curriculum & instruction, or educational leadership (preferred)

- Valid Texas teaching certificate

- Administrative certification (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

- Knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and best practices

- Ability to analyze, disaggregate, and manipulate student data to drive instructional decisions

- Ability to use data continuously throughout the year to adjust instruction based on student needs

- Strong understanding of progress monitoring and data-driven instruction cycles

- Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness

- Ability to deliver professional development to adult learners

- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of state standards (TEKS), assessment systems, and instructional technology

Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience

- Experience in instructional coaching, mentoring, or leadership roles (preferred)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional and Program Support:

- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve instructional practices and student achievement

- Support implementation of district curriculum and instructional programs

- Assist with development, revision, and alignment of curriculum documents and instructional materials

- Monitor instructional effectiveness and recommend improvements based on student data

Coaching and Professional Development:

- Provide job-embedded coaching through observation, feedback, modeling, and co-teaching

- Plan and deliver professional development aligned to campus and district needs

- Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and collaborative planning

Data and Continuous Improvement:

- Analyze, disaggregate, and interpret student performance data with teachers

- Support teachers in using data to plan, adjust, and differentiate instruction throughout the year

- Assist in monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies based on ongoing data analysis

- Support campuses in meeting performance goals and accountability standards

Collaboration and Communication:

- Work collaboratively with principals, teachers, and district staff

- Communicate instructional expectations and support campus initiatives

- Build positive relationships with staff, parents, and community members

Other:

- Compile, maintain, and file required reports and documentation

- Stay current with research and best practices in curriculum and instruction

- Follow district safety protocols and procedures

- Perform other duties as assigned

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Environment: Frequent campus visits; occasional districtwide travel
