Essex North Shore is seeking an Instructional Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The Instructional Coach works collaboratively with CTAE teachers, the Supervisor of Instructional Practices and Teacher Development and administrators to improve the quality of teaching and student learning in both academic and vocational settings. This non-evaluative role focuses on providing job-embedded professional development, mentoring, and coaching to support the implementation of effective instructional practices and curriculum standards in academic and vocational programming.

Qualifications:

  • Valid MA DESE professional teaching certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret, and present student performance data to drive classroom instruction.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all learners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • CORI, SORI, and SAFIS required.
  • Bilingual preferred.

appropriate and in conformity with state and federal law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly in classrooms by observing, modeling standards-based lessons, and facilitating peer observation cycles to improve lesson planning and execution.
  • Conduct routine observation and feedback cycles with teachers to strengthen high-leverage teaching practices and scaffold grade-level reading, writing, and academic discourse.
  • Help teachers design and implement rigorous, standards-based formative and summative assessments.
  • Assist in planning interventions for students working below grade-level proficiency, while also developing extension opportunities for highly proficient students.
  • Attend district-level coaching meetings and professional development to remain current on advanced curriculum and research-backed pedagogical strategies.
  • Offer guidance and structured support to new high school teachers to accelerate their integration and professional growth.
  • Other duties as assigned and determined necessary.
