Salary contingent on degree and years of experience: 26-27 School Year: $53,220 - $108,047
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Mathematics
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Supervisor of Mathematics, the Math Coach ensures students receive high-quality mathematics instruction by providing teachers in a school building professional development through modeling lessons, observations and feedback sessions, data analysis, and more. The Math Coach serves as the mathematics content expert and provides support on curriculum, instruction, and assessment working closely with the administration in a school. The Math Coach takes a hands-on approach to improving instruction and effectiveness by working at various levels (classroom, school, district-wide) to directly support instruction, intervention, and Mathematical Development for all students, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of successful teaching experience. Knowledge of research-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. Knowledge of Common Core and Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. Experience using instructional technology to support teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff training, and program and student accountability. Outstanding organizational skills and close attention to detail; outstanding written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change quickly, and meet deadlines. Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative. Strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to one's work. CERTIFICATION / ENDORSEMENT REQUIREMENTS: • Valid teaching certification • 305 (PK-6 Elem) AND either 229 (4-8 Middle School Math) or 029 (4-12 High School Math)
