Position Summary: The Winneconne Community School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered, and collaborative 7th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of middle-level literacy, a commitment to maximizing student growth, and the ability to foster a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities & Performance Objectives:
Professional Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of middle-school ELA curriculum, foundational literacy content, and the diverse developmental needs of 7th-grade students by providing meaningful, relevant learning experiences.
Instructional Planning: Effectively plan daily lessons and long-term units using district-approved curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and data to meet the needs of all learners.
Instructional Delivery: Actively engage students in the learning process by utilizing a variety of differentiation strategies to accommodate individual learning styles and needs.
Assessment For and Of Learning: Systematically gather, analyze, and use relevant student data to measure progress, guide daily instruction, and provide timely, constructive feedback to students, parents, and district stakeholders.
Learning Environment: Establish and maintain a respectful, safe, positive, and student-centered classroom culture through clear routines, procedures, and restorative practices.
Professionalism & District Involvement: Demonstrate behavior consistent with legal, ethical, and professional standards. Engage in continuous professional growth, attend required staff meetings, and participate in extended teaching duties (such as class advising or supporting student public performances).
Qualifications & Requirements:
Licensure: Must hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license appropriate for 7th-grade English Language Arts (e.g., Middle Childhood to Early Adolescence / Regular Education, or specific ELA/English 10-21 certifications).
Communication: Ability to speak clearly, listen actively, and maintain a calm, professional tone of voice and presence at all times.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch; use repetitive wrist/hand movements for computer work; reach with hands/arms; and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
