Position Summary: The Instructional Coordinator will work collaboratively with their building principal and/or leadership team to provide instructional leadership around planning, curriculum, and pedagogy. This position will provide targeted, timely feedback to all staff annually through formal and informal coaching cycles. The Instructional Coordinator will develop and lead professional learning around evidence-based instructional strategies, as well as support systems, structures, and practices that promote student engagement and well-being.

Essential Job Functions:
- Model, coach, scaffold and observe teachers as they implement comprehensive literacy and math evidence-based teaching practices in the classroom
- Collaborate with all teachers (including specialists and support staff) to ensure that all students reach levels of proficiency according to state standards
- Implement collaborative planning structures that build collective capacity of teachers around backward planning, lesson planning, assessment, and data analysis
- Design and provide explicit professional development to teachers
- Work strategically with teachers in planning, monitoring and assessing their teaching
- Evaluate overall effectiveness of literacy and math instruction using school and district wide data collection
- Conduct walkthroughs focused on teaching and learning and provide targeted and timely feedback on instructional and engagement strategies
- Ensure fidelity to the instructional model and guaranteed and viable curriculum
- Analyze instructional and achievement data with attention to help teams determine next steps for professional development
- School Assessment Coordinator for all testing (local & state)
Education and Experience:
- DPI certification(s) preferred: 316/317
- Masters preferred with at least 5 years of teaching/leadership experience

Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour day
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Ability to perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to ten pounds without assistance in an indoor setting
- Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide information and assistance
- Ability to move throughout the building and from building to building
- Ability to complete job activities in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm
- Ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy
