PGLS is looking for a Instructional System Design Specialist/Digital Media Editor with experience in Educational Technology, for a position at the Foreign Service Institute - contract end date 8/15/2025. 
  • Execute the creation of digital content based around the current language curriculum, includingbutnotlimitedtothereadability,structure,organization,style,andformatting of all digital content.
  •  Collaborate in the creation and formatting of language contentinauthorizedFSILearningManagementSystemstoimprovetheonlineusageof various language learning tools.
  • Collaborate with the COR, ACOR, or GTM in all stages of the SLS Curriculum Design Processinhelpingcreateandformattheonlineenvironmentforthelanguagecurriculum.
  • Collaborate with the COR, ACOR, or GTM in providing training to all staff on using educationaltechnologyandothertoolsincreatingandmaintaininglanguagecurriculum.
  • FollowFSIandSLSprocedures regarding copyright, and track compliance for assigned development project(s).
    CollaboratewiththeCOR,ACOR,orGTMandcontentcreatorstoestablishprocesses and deadlines for the editing workflow.
    ProvideregularstatusupdatesonprogresstotheCOR,ACOR,orGTMandbriefingson request for the content creators and others regarding progress, standards, or issues for discussion.


Requirements

  • BA/BS,MA/MS,orPh.D.,orforeignequivalentdegreeinEducational Technology, Instructional Design, Graphic Design, etc.
  • One(1)yearofexperienceoreducation in EducationalTechnology orDigital Media Design.
  • One(1)yearofexperienceusingaLearningManagement Systemaseitheraninstructor or administrator.
  •  Experiencecreatingdigitaltrainingmaterials:coursecontent,teachingmanuals,student guides, e-books, and interactive media (video, audio, animation, digital text).
  • ExperienceusingOfficeandGraphicDesignApplications(AdobePremier,Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Cloud apps).
  • Knowledgeofbasiccomputerskills:e.g.,email,MicrosoftOfficeSuiteandfamiliarity with online meeting software (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams, Webex), etcetera.
Preferred:
  • Experienceindesktoppublishinggraphicdesign valued.
  • One(1)year ofexperiencetraining instructorsinusing digitaltraining techniques.
  • Projectmanagement experiencevalued.
  • ExperienceinGoogleforEducation.
  • Knowledgeof InstructionDesign
