WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:Job Summary
The Instructional Design Manager leads the strategy, development, and delivery of engaging, learner centered training programs that support the growth and compliance of clinical and non-clinical staff in long-term care. This role oversees a team of instructional designers and collaborates with subject matter experts to create impactful learning experiences that align with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and employee development needs.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Leads, mentors, and develops a team of instructional designers in creating impactful learning experiences for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Oversees the end-to-end design and implementation of innovative training programs tailored to the long-term care environment, integrating modern technologies and adult learning principles.
• Drives a culture of continuous learning and professional growth aligned with the organization's mission of exceptional resident care and employee retention.
• Applies evidence-based instructional strategies that meet regulatory standards while supporting learners at varying experience levels.
• Designs and maintains comprehensive curricula and assessments for onboarding, compliance, role-specific training (e.g., clinical, culinary, environmental), and Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
• Produces engaging, multimedia-rich learning materials—including eLearning, videos, printable guides, and instructor-led training—that reflect brand standards and learner-centered design.
• Leads project management efforts for learning initiatives, ensuring clarity of scope, timely execution, and quality deliverables.
• Partners with subject matter experts and operational leaders to translate complex clinical and regulatory topics into clear, actionable training.
• Evaluates training effectiveness through learner feedback, performance metrics, and ROI analysis, using data to drive ongoing improvements.
• Ensures training is accessible, inclusive, and relevant for diverse roles across the organization—from frontline caregivers to administrative teams.
• Updates training materials continuously in response to regulatory changes, workforce needs, and learner insights.
• Oversees content lifecycle management, including archiving, version control, and compliance documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor Degree
Experience: 5-8 years
Licenses and Certifications
Project Management or Certified Professional in Talent Development (e.g., PMP, CPLP, ATD) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
